Neurospinal and Cancer Care Institute (Formerly NMI) was established in 1995 under the umbrella of M. Hashim Memorial Trust at the site of what was previously known as Ali Clinic. 

Over the years it progressed to a center for neurological/neurosurgical excellence and also made a mark as a center for advanced radiological services especially in neuro-imaging. 

2008 was a very special year in the history of NCCI, as it was this year that a Gamma Knife & X Knife Stereotactic Radiosurgery unit was installed at NCCI. This was the first radiosurgery installation in Pakistan, making NCCI the pioneer and a center of excellence for radio-surgical procedures. 

NCCI has been at the forefront of innovation and service provision to its patients, and has always taken the lead in keeping abreast of the advances in medical field and tried utmost to have such facilities available for patients. 

The following are a few of the ‘FIRSTS’ in the history of NCCI.

Installation of

• 1st Multi-Slice CT scanner in the private sector in the city. 

 

• 3rd Permanent Magnet MRI scanner in the private sector in the city. 

 

• 1st 1.5T MRI scanner in the private sector in the city.

 

• 1st Gamma Knife & X Knife Radiosurgery systems in the country.    

 

• 1st 64-Slice PET-CT Scanner in the country with a built-in cyclotron.

The above timeline underlines the fact that the administration at NCCI has a progressive outlook, is patient centric, and has a vision behind it.

NCCI Cancer Care Center: 

At NCCI we offer latest oncology treatments for the many cancers that respond to well-established treatment protocols. We provide the latest, multi-disciplinary techniques for both radiation and medical oncology. 

Each patient receives a customized treatment plan, delivered with compassion and true caring which is required for patients facing a challenging and life-changing process. 

Many factors affect the type of cancer treatment a patient may receive, including the type of the cancer, where it is located, the stage of the disease, and other aspects of the patient’s health. 

Treatment methods range from surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy to other alternative therapies that may be appropriate for an individual patient.

There are 2 two Linear Accelerators and 1 Gamma Knife ICON installed at NCCI.

All range of systemic treatments including chemotherapy, hormone therapy, targeted therapy 

(TKIs), immunotherapy, bisphosphonates are available under one roof.
